This is the best free snack I ever had for this week. Thumbs up to whoever thought that suman (sticky rice), matamis na bao (coco jam) and ripe mangoes can be perfect partners for merienda. Usually, suman is for breakfast or merienda, matamis na bao as spread and ripe mangoes serve as desserts. In this version, the matamis na bao sweetened the suman while the sweet soury taste of ripe mango adds a different flavor to remove the umay taste.
This reminds me of the "Sikreto ni Maria" of Abe restaurant. In their version, it is serve as dessert and they use macapuno ice cream instead of matamis na bao. P.S. Thanks Inay Emma for the additional slice of mango :) I cannot calm right now. I wish August to be over hahaha! I cannot help but smile with the plans ahead. Lord please help us in making things go as planned.
It is my first time to eat a gelato cake and to try Amici's dessert line. I ordered this because according to their Menu, Rouge is one of their best sellers and this was voted as one of the Best Desserts of Philippine Inquirer.
This is indeed delicious, it deserved the spot as one of the Best Desserts. The cake literally melted in my mouth and I could taste the fruity flavor of blueberry, strawberry and the vanilla. Its graham crust were pleasantly crisp that it gave the perfect ending to my every bite. So next time you are in Amici, please do try Rouge, it is definitely worth your Php150.00. It's more fun in the Philippines, the Huffington Post also claimed it. The article cited the 8 reasons why Philippines is the best tropical destination. Our scape, hospitality, and cuisine is our showcase to the world. I am happy to know that I have been already to the places in their best lists: Sagada, Chocolate Hills, Mayon Volcano, Caramoan, and Boracay. I guess, it is about time to plan a visit to El Nido and a meet up with a mouse-deer ;)
